Wanted something to sip slowly for a nice chilly November fall evening. Haven't had calvados in a while. Searched calvados recipes on kindred cocktails website and this recipe spoke to me.
2 oz of calvados (VS or VSOP)
0.75 oz Strega (I used becherovka because didn't have Strega)
0.5 oz orange liqueur (I used Cointreau)
0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
2 dashes peychauds bitters
2 luxardo cherries for garnish
Add all liquid ingredients to shaker. Shake well with plenty of ice. Fine-strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the cherries. (As a sidenote, I noticed that this cocktail became much more aromatic when it warmed up just a tad.... kind of between ice cold and room temp I would say). Enjoy.
