The drink that inspired BarNotes. My good friend Dan Stone, a fellow cohort on BarNotes, introduced me to this cocktail on one of his previous visits to the Bay area. After he left I searched the recipe online and found many versions. None of them this recipe. None of them this good.
1 oz. Old Overholt rye whiskey
1 oz. Lairds Bonded Apple Brandy
2 dashes orange bitters
2 dashes Woodford Reserve cherry bitters
1 bar spoon of maple syrup
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice, stir and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with lemon peel.
