Original cocktail. (Shrub recipe courtesy Lara Creasy, King + Duke, Atlanta)
Combine all ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake until chilled. Strain and serve with fresh apple slices.
Shrub recipe:
1 12 oz bag cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup red wine or apple cider vinegar
2 cups water
1 tsp. grated orange zest
1 oz fresh lemon juice
6 whole cloves
Heat slowly until cranberries begin to pop. Remove and allow to cool. Strain through fine mesh pressing to extract all juice. Keep refrigerated in clean glass container for up to 3 months.
