After years of Mai Tais, Margaritas and Manhattans, who would have guessed my first cocktail would include mezcal, Cynar and grapefruit juice?
This update is to change the name of the cocktail. I discovered an ironically similar Bitter Smoke cocktail in a 2009 blog entry at www.amountainofcrushedice.com. Art of Smoke was inspired by the Cynar Juleps served at Eveleigh in Los Angeles during an October 2013 birthday weekend bar hop.
1 oz Mezcal
1 oz Cynar
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a grapefruit peel.
