About this Cocktail

Developed by Bittermens founder Avery Glasser for Amor y Amargo, a bar in the East Village often billed as a bitters tasting room.

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz. VSOP Cognac
  • 1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 oz. Rye Whiskey
  • .25 oz. Bittermens Hiver Amer
  • 2 dashes of Angostura
  • 6 drops of Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters
  • 6 drops of Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate
Preparation:

Stir and serve up in a coupe. As an option, feel free to garnish with a twist of orange.

    Yowser, this is one bitter beast -- but not overpoweringly so. Almost like a light fernet branca. You keep expecting it to heat your chest, but it's remarkably smooth. Remarkable.
