Y'all, I've had a lot of Egg Nog lately and needed a Gin Sour. Here's my favourite classic Gin Sour, the Aviation. I have tried a great many Aviations and I think this one strikes the balance of sweet and sour just right. Enjoy!

2 oz / 60 ml Plymouth Gin
2 tsp / 10 ml Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
1 tsp / 5 ml Crème de Violette
1/2 oz / 15 ml Lemon Juice
*Luxardo Maraschino Cherry + Syrup
Combine ingredients over ice and shake. Add Maraschino Cherry and a bit of the syrup to coupe. Double strain liquids into coupe. Santé!
*Using the right kind of Cherries + Syrup is critical in this recipe. If you have brandied cherries, that may work but will alter the taste considerably. Avoid the bright-red-fake-terrifying Cherries.
**Never a Lemon Peel unless you're into being assaulted by Lemons.
