About this Cocktail

Negroni variation traced back to the Victoria Bar in Berlin, 2004. This one is made in accordance to the recipe cited in Jim Meehan's The PDT Cocktail Book.
Certainly more juniper shines through here than with a traditional Negroni, which I really enjoyed. The drink has an altogether dryer character, which I think is also as much an expression of the gin as the substituted Cynar and Dry Vermouth. Not sure the orange twist, lovely as it smells, fits quite right here, other than tying it back to the drink's original inspiration.

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz. Tanqueray Gin
  • .75 oz. Cynar
  • .5 oz Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth
  • Orange twist
Preparation:

Stir and strain into rocks glass filled with one big ol' cube. Orange twist garnish.
