About this Cocktail

I saw this one while perusing the Esquire magazine drink archives. Since it includes the delicious Bittermens tiki bitters and dark rum I couldn't help but give it a try.

It was created by Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli of Island Creek Oyster Bar in Boston.

(please note: I totally horked the image from the article so assume it should be credited to the article's author Jake Stavis)

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz. Old Monk Rum (or other dark rum)
  • .75 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • .75 oz. Aperol
  • 1 dash Bittermens Tiki Bitters
Preparation:

Mount all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a cocktail coupe.

I am also totally down with horked, which I've never heard before.

Horked I think (and hope) is a reference to the movie Strange Brew with the infamous McKenzie brothers. Has also been adopted by nerdy coder types.

Tried this with Kraken. Not bad that way either.
