To pair with a summer to fall transition I combined these flavours to get a sweet refreshing summertime feel with a smokey fall undertone. The best part is the setup is all self contained. The mason jar serving method makes for a great cocktail shaker
1 stalk fresh basil
5-8 fresh blackberries
1.5 cups homemade lemonade
2-3 oz bulleit bourbon
Place basil and blackberries in the bottom of a mason jar. Full 3/4 with ice and cap. Shake vigorously to muddle the basil and mash the blackberries. Pour in your bourbon and then top with lemonade and shake again. Serve with a straw and lemon slice and enjoy the last days of summer.
