Paper Plane is a new cocktail bar in Decatur created by talented Atlanta mixologist Paul Calvert. This drink sourced via Imbibe Magazine.
1 oz. Amaro Cio Ciaro
1 oz. Fernet Branca syrup (see preparation steps)
1 oz. Fresh lemon juice
2 dsh. Angostura bitters
3 oz. Pale ale (I use Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale)
Combine all ingredients, except beer, and shake with ice cubes. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass and top with beer.
For the Fernet Branca Syrup: Combine 8 oz. of Fernet Branca and 1 cup of granulated sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Strain into a glass bottle and keep refrigerated for up to 3 weeks.
