About this Cocktail

Named for La Noche Boca Arriba, a Julio Cortázar story about an Argentine motorcycle crash victim who may be an Aztec sacrifice or vice versa, and inspired by the drinks of Gabriella Mlynarczyk and the two story structure of Pouring Ribbons' One Flight Up cocktail. Rafa García Febles, NYC.

  • 2 oz blanco tequila (pepper infused)
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz coconut milk
  • 3/4 oz falernum
  • 3/4 oz tamarind syrup
  • 1/2 oz egg white
  • 1 oz Mexican lager
  • 1/2 oz Michelada mix

Pour beer and Michelada mix into a chilled tall glass with a long shard of ice in it. Combine other ingredients in mixer, shake without ice to emulsify, shake again with ice, and pour into glass over the beer. Garnish with lime and orange spiral twists.

For Michelada mix, combine Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Maggi/soy sauce, and citrus to taste. Multiple recipes are available online.

Alternatively, 1 oz ginger beer and 1/2 oz cassis make a different but still satisfying drink.
