A homemade twist on a perfect tailgating cocktail.

Large ice cubes
3 oz Bourbon
1 tbsp Ginger Syrup*
2 slices fresh ripe peach
2 oz soda water
Fill a highball glass with ice. And bourbon and ginger syrup, and stir. Add peach slices (or pear if you have to), and pour soda water to top of the glass. Stir gently.
1/2 cup fine turbinado sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 lb fresh ginger root
In a small sauce pot bring water, sugar, and ginger to a boil. Turn off the heat and allow to steep for one hour. Screen off the ginger pieces, and reserve the syrup. Will keep for two weeks in the fridge.
