One of my favorite summer drinks! This is based on the original recipe as described by its creator, Dick Bradsell.
2 oz Plymouth gin
.75 oz lemon juice
2 bar spoons simple syrup
.5 oz crème de mûre (or blackberry liqueur)
Shake the gin, lemon, and simple with ice. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Float with crème de mûre and garnish with a lemon wedge and a fresh blackberry. Also nice with a sugared rim on the glass. I'll add a picture next time I make one.
