About this Cocktail

I had an itch to scratch in that I was looking for something stirred focused around Rum and Madeira that would work well as the weather began to dip a little bit down south. Fortunately for me, I have an excellent resource (beyond BarNotes) in my brother who made a few well placed suggestions that resulted in a delicious end result that was exactly what I was hoping for. PB

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. Diplomatica Reserva Exclusiva Rum
  • .75 oz. RWC Savannah Verdelho Madeira
  • .25 oz. Cointreau
  • 1 Barspoon of Creme de Cacao
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • 2 dashes Bittermens Tiki Bitters
  • Orange peel for garnish
Preparation:

Stir ingredients and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with wide swath of peel.If desired add 1 large cube of ice in a rocks glass.

    I love rum and Madeira together. I did a toddy with those two during that Arctic weather we had a few weeks ago.
