I created this cocktail for use at Blackberry Farm, a Relais & Chateaux resort located in Walland, TN. Creating cocktails for an after dinner drink menu is always exciting. When crafting, it is often helpful to re-examine what makes some classics amazing and how these drinks can be twisted to fashion something new. This drink is a combination of a Whiskey Sour and an Amaretto Sour with the use of fresh citrus as the base. The addition of red wine infuses a stunning color and depth. Check out the video
.5 Oz. Don Q Rum
.5 Oz. Disaronno Amaretto
.5 Oz. Gentleman Jack Daniels TN Whiskey
.5 Oz. Simple syrup (2:1 ratio)
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Juice of 1/2 an orange
In a mixing tin filled with ice add everything except the red wine. Shake until the mixing tin is cold and then strain the liquid into a chilled martini glass. Using the red wine, glaze the top of the cocktail.
