I made this cocktail for an Anderson Valley Brewing beer cocktail competition at Sacramento Cocktail Week 2018. Their Chai Solstice beer has a long spiced finish, so I played off that with a Banana bread riff.
2.5 oz Anderson Valley Chai Solstice Beer
1.5 oz Diplomatico Reserva rum
.5 oz Giffard Banane du Brasil
2 barspoons rich demarera syrup
1 dash cardamom bitters
5 dashes of black walnut bitters
Pour beer into old fashioned glass over a large cube.
Stir the remainder of the ingredients and strain into glass. Garnish with a toasted walnut and a grind of black pepper
