Who doesn't love a Caipirinha? Here's my new take on a classic drink with some seasoned heat.
2 oz Batavia-Arrack rum
.75 oz jalapeño lime syrup
4 dash lemon bitters
2 quartered lime wedges (4 bits total)
First, the syrup. Take 5 whole jalapeños and cut them in half, take out the middle bits and seeds. Add 1 full lime zest only. 1 pint sugar and 1 pint water. Cook and reduce by half an inch. Fine strain the syrup into a container.
Add ingredients into a shaker and muddle syrup, limes, and lemon bitters. Add rum and shake with crushed ice. Pour everything into a cocktail glass (yes, everything.) top with fresh crushed ice if needed. Garnish with a luxardo cherry and candied jalapeño wheel. Enjoy it!
