About this Cocktail

This is an homage to my French Canadian roots. Charbonneau Way is the name of the road where my family used to have a sugar house to make maple syrup. Wild mountain thyme grows in fields of purple during the summer. Chris Thile calls this drink my Penicillin. LeSigh.

  • 2 oz Willett Family Reserve Rye
  • 1/2 oz maple syrup
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz amer savauge
  • Absinthe
  • Fresh thyme

Combine first four ingredients in a shaker. The higher the proof on the whiskey, the better the drink. Strain into a cocktail coup misted with absinthe. Garnish with a sprig of fresh slapped thyme.
