About this Cocktail

Named for the king of sweet vermouths, this is a complex, boozy but surprisingly smooth cocktail. I love the layered taste experience, between the orange on the nose, to the sweet Cynar/Bourbon/Vermouth combination, followed by the spiciness and anise that lingers from the Peychaud's, it continues to impress. Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz Cynar
  • 1.5 oz Bourbon
  • 3/4 oz Carpano Antica (or other high end sweet vermouth)
  • 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
  • Garnish with orange peel
Preparation:

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, stir, strain into a coupe glass. Express the orange peel over the glass and drop it in.
