About this Cocktail

A drink from Ted Saucier's book. Bottoms Up. This has not been added to the canon of Bar Notes as far as I can tell. I could be wrong. A heady toper which I think should be included. I believe this refers to the turtle of Maryland and not the snake. Only because its origin states its from The Lord Baltimore Hotel. Anyhoo Mr. Taggart also blogged about this moons ago.

  • 1 oz. Rye whiskey (used Rittenhouse bonded
  • 1/2 oz. Applejack (used Laird's bonded )
  • 1/2 oz. yellow Chartreuse

Stir with ice about 90 seconds and strain into a coupe and garnish with a mint leaf. Original recipe states pour into an old fashioned over cracked ice which is probably a good idea considering the ABV but hey sometimes you gotta break the rules. Cheers
