The genius of this drink belongs to a man called Trey from the Blue Spoon in Portland, Maine, USA and was posted here by Colin Urbina as Bookbinder. I only had a 13 year old Pappy Van Winkle and the dregs of a bottle of Thomas Handy, neither of which I wanted to use in a cocktail. So I substituted Octomore, the peatiest whisky ever made. Given the intense smokiness and the original name, Fahrenheit 451 seemed an obvious moniker.
Stir over ice. Strain into a coupe and drift away through the mist.
