About this Cocktail

Originally from Bourbon & Branch, I asked the bartender at AQ if he knew how to make it. He didn't but said his roommate did and texted him. After 10 minutes without hearing back I told him to just make me something with nocino. Finally, right before last call, his roommate got back to him with the recipe and made me the drink pictured. It was delicious. The bitters and Rothman Pear Liquor really help here -- I've tried a bunch of other pear liquors, but this one really is the right balance against the Buffalo Trace.

Ingredients:
  • 2oz Buffalo Trace bourbon
  • 1/2 oz Rothman Pear liquor
  • Barspoon each of Laphroaig and nocino (1/16oz)
  • 2 dash Fee Bros. Old Fashioned bitters
  • Lemon
Preparation:

Mix everything together with ice and pour into a chilled coupe glass. Spray the surface of the drink with the lemon zest, and then discard. Serve.

    I used Merlet Creme de Poire because I already had an open bottle and this drink was still awesome! I'll make sure to try Rothman once I use up my Merlet. Thanks for sharing!
