About this Cocktail

Original experiment: A 'half step' in the classic melody of a Manhattan and the newer, more complex Remember the Maine. European influences and a little bit of rock, too.

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 oz rye
  • 1 oz Cherry Heering
  • 4 dashes Fees Brothers bitters
  • Dash absinthe
  • Orange peel
Preparation:

Stir all over ice. Strain into chilled rocks glass over large block ice. Flame orange peel for garnish.

Looks good. Similar to a great drink developed by Ali Reynolds at Hawksmoor, London called the 'Made Man'. 40ml Rye (Rittenhouse 100 if possible) 20ml Cherry Heering, 10ml Fernet Branca and 10 ml yellow Chartreuse. Stirred over ice and served up with lemon twist. Worth a try!

Thanks Jason. I'm definitely gonna give that a go! (Though the metric measures always make my brain hurt).

Yeah sorry about that! Doesn't easily translate to oz! Sure it'll be worth the brain ache! Let me know what you think

It's ok. I know I can just convert to ounces. So I'll have a...(4+2+1+1=8).. 8 oz cocktail! ;) (joking)
