In honor of the world's largest outdoor cocktail party, here's a variation on an old fashioned playing off of the ultimate southern tail gate classic, Bourbon and Coke.
2 oz. Maker's Mark
1/2 oz. Mexican coke reduction
A few liberal dashes of angostura
I used a mexican Coke because it has real sugar but a regular Coke would work fine. Reduced one bottle in a sauce pan down to about 1/3 of original amount so it's a syrup, cooled and stored in the fridge until ready
Combine ingredients, stir and add ice.
