Gifford Pinchot

About this Cocktail

The Governor of Pennsylvania circa the 1930s was Gifford Pinchot. His nigh-prohibition policies are the reason for Pennsylvania's absurd liquor laws. I priced this drink exceptionally low at my bar to give people access to a fine drink. Take that, Gifford Pinchot!!

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz Fernet Branca
  • Ginger Ale (I prefer ginger beer)
Preparation:

Collins glass with ice, fill with ginger ale leaving roughly an inch at the top. Twist an orange peel over the top to expel its' oils. Skewer it. For a nice effect pour the Fernet Branca over the skewered orange peel at the table. The dark colored digestivo will fall pleasantly through the ginger ale.
