Auchentoshan is Glasgow’s own whisky distillery and they’ve been promoting Auchentoshan and Ale for the past couple of years. This hoptail was created at Bag O Nails in the west end of the city as a local version of this delicious combination. Alongside this fine lowland malt aged in bourbon casks is Gladeye IPA from the local Drygate brewing company making this a true Glasgow Warrior. I’ve taken my best guess at the specs for this drink and I’m very happy with the result.
2oz Auchentoshan American Oak
3/4oz lemon juice
3/4oz ginger syrup
1 teaspoon Seville Orange Marmalade
3oz Drygate Gladeye IPA
Orange wedge garnish
Add first four ingredients to an ice filled shaker and shake vigorously. Double strain into an ice filled double rocks glass and top with ipa. Garnish with an orange wedge.
