Grass Knuckles

About this Cocktail

This is a drink I created at the hotel bar that I work in at The Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Malmo, Sweden. The name was given because the color of the drink and for playing with the word brass knuckles, and sort of hinting you will be dragging your knuckles in the ground after a few of these.(I dont take name giving very seriously..).
I used the La fee absinthe because of although the high alcohol, its pretty smooth and also has a lovely color. To mellow out the alcohol and for some the overwhelming absinthe taste, I used a Swedish vodka called Rymdvodka(space vodka). I usually dont do drinks with vodka but with this one it was the best choice I think. Its shaken with some limoncello, lime juice, gomme syrup and a few mint leaves and fine strained to a small coupe glass. The drink has become surprisingly popular and its a perfect after work cocktail.

Ingredients:
  • 20ml absinthe
  • 20ml vodka
  • 10ml limoncello
  • 20ml fresh lime juice
  • 10ml gomme syrup
  • 4-5 mint leaves
  • 1 dash lemon bitters
Preparation:

Chill a coupe glas and pick some medium sized mint leaves, smack them and put them with the rest of the ingredients in a shaker, no muddling. Shake it with ice and double strain to the coupe. Garnish with a nice mint sprig.
