About this Cocktail

Credited to Daniel Eun, the Harvest Moon features rye, apple brandy, lillet, chartreuse and the long elusive Abbott's bitters. For a time, one had to sub angostura, but Tempus Fugit's recreation of the original Abbott's Bitters is finally available. If I had a Top 10 list for cocktails, this would make it. As featured at www.bitterchris.com

  • 1.5 oz rittenhouse rye
  • 1 oz Lillet Blanc
  • 1/2 oz Green Chartreuse
  • 1/2 oz Apple Brandy
  • 3 dashes Abbott's bitters

Combine, add ice, stir, strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with orange twist.

I happen to have different version on reproduced Abbot's and gotta admit that the Bob's Abbot is the richest tastiest and most powerful one, having a manhattan with equal parts rye, carpano and Bob's Abbot's should be the closest thing to drinking one in 1870

That's good to hear. I actually just tried ordering some two days ago from the only company domestically that I could find (they source from England) but they were sold out!

I am actually the one who distributes it in Canada though ( its not cause of that that i said its one of the best outhere ) i think the meadow are the ones selling it in the states. Where do you live ?
  • Bitter Chris
