It ain't quite Manhattan, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I didn't have Rye or any maraschinos, but I did have Punt e Mes, arguably my favorite vermouth and the awesome Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate.
2 parts Bourbon (in this case Bulleit)
1 part Punt e Mes Vermouth
3 drops Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate
1 dash Angostura
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice and stir until chilled.
Side Note: In my case, chilled was when the hand holding the shaker started to ache from either my death grip on the cocktail shaker or from the conduction of the metal...your guess is as good as mine, but I digress...
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or whatever your vessel of choice is, rinse and repeat.
