About this Cocktail

A recipe from Ted Saucier's Cocktail book, Bottoms Up circa 1951.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. Gin
  • 1 oz. orgeat
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 10 drops orange flower water
  • White from one egg
  • Orchid flower garnish is optional. Not called for in the original recipe.
Preparation:

Add all ingredients and dry shake for 60 seconds. Add ice and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into a coupe. I dialed back the orgeat to 1/2 oz. to balance it. Great breakfast drink in the Ramos gin fizz style. Cheers!

    Love this drink. Sub the orchid for some fresh grated nutmeg and it's divine.
