Once again with the Black Bottle Scotch - its slightly smoky nature (which comes from being a blend of Islay malts) really works well with the Earl Grey. I'm assuming you could approximate it with some relatively neutral blend and a small splash of Laphroaig.
1.5 oz Black Bottle Scotch
0.5 oz Earl Grey gin (Tanqueray, in this case)
0.5 oz lemon
0.5 oz maple simple (1:1 maple syrup to water)
~6 drops Fee Brothers Orange Bitters
~8 drops Angostura bitters
Shake, double strain onto rocks, garnish with orange swath.
[Earl Grey gin - 1 tsp Earl Grey tea leaves for every 50 ml of gin. Invert once or twice to mix, let sit 30 minutes, strain off.]
