Nearly every time we go out, my best friend asks the bartender to make something savory. Invariably, she is disappointed when said bartender gives her a confused look and asks, "What do you mean «Savory»?"

70 ml Dorothy Parker Gin
20 ml Dolin Dry
10 ml Bonal
2 Cucumber Slices
4 Basil Leaves
A Few Drops of Angostura Bitters
A Few Drops of Olive Oil
Muddle cucumber and 3 basil leaves. Add gin, vermouth, bitters and Bonal. Give it a long stir with cracked ice. Double strain into coupe. One basil leaf and several drops of olive oil as garnish.
