Inspired by Dale DeGroff's Ritz Cocktail, this riff pulls on several levers and may not be fairly considered a version of the Ritz Cocktail.
1.5 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
1.0 oz Grand Poppy Bitter Liqueur
1 tsp Maraschino liqueur
0.5 oz Lemon juice
~1.0 oz Fever Tree Bitter Lemon
Shake and strain into a Collins. Add crushed ice (the ice pictured was made from a mallet and Louis bag). Top with the Bitter Lemon and give a gentle stir from the top to the bottom of the glass to mix. Add a stirrer.
Avoid a straw, in order to force the drinker to draw the drink from lips to the glass (and through the crushed ice), which creates a softer experience.
