My wife loves Amaretto. This drink is the result of an attempt to make an Amaretto-based cocktail she would enjoy (she did). The form has similarities to a Ramos Gin Fizz and the name is a nod to one of the groups that contributed to the culture of New Orleans. Comments and criticism welcome!
1 whole egg
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup (1:1, cold prep)
2 oz Luxardo Amaretto
3/4 oz Bulleit Bourbon
1 oz half&half
Add all ingredients except soda and bitters to a shaker and dry shake vigorously. Add ice and shake again. Strain into a chilled, iced tall glass. Add a splash of soda. Dribble Peychaud's Bitters on top as a garnish.
