Jalapeño-spiked Bourbon Julep

  • Mint leaves
  • 1oz jalapeño simple syrup
  • Bourbon
  • Club soda
  • Crushed ice
  • Garnish: mint leaf and jalapeño slice (seeded)

In a julep cup, pour jalapeño syrup and add mint leaves (about 5 or 6). Muddle leaves with syrup. Add crushed ice about 2/3 full. Add bourbon 2-3 oz. stir. Top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with mint leaf and jalapeño slice.

    Jalapeño simple syrup: 1cup water, 1cup sugar, 2 jalapeños medium sized chopped. Simmer sugar, water, and jalapeños for about 5 minutes.
