This is a riff off of Stew Ellington's 'English Rose', also featured on my bar. I literally just subbed bourbon for gin. 'Kentucky Rose' just seemed an obviously appropriate name. For more tartness, up the lemon or use less grenadine.
1.5 oz Old Forester Bourbon
.75 oz R&W Apricot Liqueur
.75 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
.25-.5 oz Lemon juice (Meyer)
1 tsp Grenadine
5 dashes Fee Bros. Whiskey Barrel Bitters
Combine all ingredients over ice into a shaker. Shake and serve in a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with homemade bourbon cherry.
