This is the Rickhouse version of Joaquín Simó's Kingston Negroni. I was able to find the recipe for Joaquín's original recipe online, and then just infused the sweet vermouth with coffee as Rickhouse does. I love the way that the flavors from the overproof rum play with the coffee infused sweet vermouth - so good ! Any drink that has ties to Rickhouse and Pouring Ribbons is one that I want on my list of go to's...
1.0 oz Smith & Cross Navy Strength Rum
1.0 oz Campari
1.0 oz coffee infused Carpano Antica
Orange peel for garnish
Combine all ingredients in mixing glass, stir with ice, and strain into rocks glass over a large cube. Express orange peel, rub rim, and drop into drink. Cheers!
For the coffee infused Carpano Antica, lightly crush 3 scoops of your favorite coffee beans and add to 375 ml of Carpano Antica. Let the mixture soak for 24 hours, shaking occasionally. You may need to strain with a cheesecloth depending on how fine the beans get crushed.
