Gin variant of an AMAZING original rye cocktail I had at wonderful new restaurant here in RVA (Shagbark). The original was so good I literally had to stop on the way home for Bonal and Cynar (we had early dinner on account of our five month old daughter and the long wait time on normal dinner times!) I managed to get it down pretty close on my first try, and a week later I tried it with Gin for pure shits and giggles. It was PERFECT.
2oz Caorunn Gin
.75oz Bonal Gentiane Quina
.5oz honey syrup (3:2)
Add luquid ingredients to mixing glass, add ice and stir.
Strain into chilled coupe. Express and garnish with orange twist.
