Experimenting one afternoon with rum drinks, I stumbled into the cocktail. Named for a man in Louisiana history, the levels of this cocktail represent his journey.
1.5 oz Papa's Pilar blonde
.75 oz Yellow Chartreuse
.75 oz Averna Amaro
1 barspoon Steens Cane Syrup
Flamed orange peel
3 dashes Bittermens Xocoltal Mole Bitters
Add the Liquer and cane syrup to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir approximately 30 rotations. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or coup. Garnish with a flamed orange peel and add the bitters.
