Made it at home, classic recipe. I find good rye whisky (which I understand is truly the original, not Canadian or bourbon) makes the best Manhattans. I like Alberta Premium for a nice cheaper rye, and Crown Royal Northern Harvest rye for a top-shelf. Vermouth is flexible but I personally like Antica Formula. Luxardo cherries of course!
2oz rye whisky, Crown Royal Northern Harvest
1oz sweet vermouth, Antica Formula preferred
9 drops Angostura bitters
Combine ingredients in stirring glass half filled with ice. Stir for 30 seconds and strain into martini glass. Garnish with maraschino cherry.
