A simple creation and a tip of the hat for those who like rum for sipping over mixing; easy and drinkable (the best kind of drink). using decent maple works well with a nice aged gold rum. I use Mount gay extra old; good an rich on the palate. yum.
1/2 oz good Canadian maple syrup
2 1/2 oz Mount Gay extra old
stir over ice in a mixing glass
strain into a short over cubed ice.
Flame an orange peel over the drink, rim the glass, and chuck it in right before serving for a caramelly orange twist
