About this Cocktail

Half a jar of ignored marmalade sitting in the fridge... time to make a syrup...

*rich marmalade syrup*
2/3 cup Orange marmalade
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup white wine vinegar (adds brightness to the syrup and pushes fruit flavor forward, while not as acidic as your typical shrub-- really works nice for spring/summertime old fashioned)
2 sticks cinnamon

Ingredients:
  • .25 oz rich marmalade syrup
  • 2 oz. bourbon or rye to your preference
  • (I used bourbon here with the idea that
  • it would pair nicely with the orange)
  • 2 dashes Angostura
  • 8 drops Bittermens Xocolatl Mole bitters
Preparation:

Combine all in mixing glass, fill with ice and stir until well chilled. Strain into old fashioned glass hosting one large cube. Garnish optional.
