In honor of the great Thelonious Monk, who surely never tasted this delicacy, even if his playing suggests otherwise.
Makes two drinks (it's a self-accompanying duet).
12-18 fresh mint leaves
One slice (ca 2-4 oz) watermelon flesh
3/4 oz agave syrup
3/4 oz fresh lime
1/2 oz fresh lemon
6 oz Gin (I used Tanqueray)
3 dashes Rhubarb bitters
Combine mint leaves, melon pieces, agave, and lemon/lime juices in shaker. Muddle. Add Gin, bitters, and ice; shake thoroughly. Strain into Highball glass with a large rock. Garnish with top of a mint sprig.
