This is a Negroni variant for Christmas, meant to evoke sipping mulled wine in front of the tree. The Dry Rye Reposado gin makes it almost veer into Boulevardier territory, but the Douglas Fir helps reinforce the gin’s botanicals. Hiver Amer provides a bitter backbone and cinnamon-orange notes. Allspice liqueur adds an extra bit of sugar and spice to make everything nice.

1 ounce St George Dry Rye Reposado gin
1 ounce Carpano Antica
0.5 ounce Clear Creek Douglas Fir brandy
0.5 ounce Bittermen’s Hiver Amer
0.25 oz St Elizabeth Allspice Liqueur
Stir over ice, strain into an old fashioned glass with a big rock. Express oils from a swath of orange zest and discard.
