About this Cocktail
In the spirit of the prohibition era cocktail revival, here's a drink which reminds me of a Manhattan and a Sazerac.
1.5 oz Bourbon
.5 oz Punt e Mes
.5 oz Sweet Vermouth
.25 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
A few drops of Pernod
Two dashes of Peychaud's
Luxardo Maraschino Cherry
Lemon peel expressed
Combine liquids with ice in shaker and give it a nice long stir. Add cherry to coupe. Pour liquid into coupe, express lemon peel and discard peel.
Note: I've made this with both Bourbon (Buffalo Trace) and Rye (George Dickel). I prefer the smoothness of the bourbon.
