About this Cocktail

A cocktail created by my wife, we were in a cocktail bar with bartenders that want to tell you what's best for you to drink, she asked for a negroni with amaro montenegro, he said : instead of the campari ? She replied : no instead of the vermouth, and he was surprised that he felt the need to explain how it doesnt make sense.
We do know how it makes so much sense, how it's good, spicy and bittersweet all at once

  • 1 part tanqueray
  • 1 part campari
  • 1 part amaro montenegro
  • Lemon peel garnish

Didn't have any Montenegro so I made an Avernegroni.

I made one of these when we had a crowd around, and had to make several more. After making 9, I ran out of Campari and started subbing in Cynar in place of Campari to tasty results again. Love that so many people have posted variations on this! Thanks all for sharing.

Is life making me more bitter, or am I so sweet I need this for balance?
