The first mulberries have ripened on the tree so I have combined their sweet, sharp flavour with two rich ingredients in Spanish brandy and Cocchi di Torino to create a beautifully coloured spiced tipple.

50ml Carlos I Spanish brandy
25ml Cocchi Di Torino
Dash of Spanish bitters
Muddle the four mulberries in the shaker. Add the other ingredients and shake hard. Double strain. Garnish with the fifth mulberry.
