About this Cocktail

I was inspired by John Gertsen's Rhum Agricot and Martin Cate's Vieux Abricot, borrowed elements from both, and threw in falernum to complement the citrus and spice notes. Named after the active volcano on Martinique that every so often wipes out towns and distilleries, and this was a drink of the day at Loyal Nine in September 2016.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 oz JM Rhum Agricole Blanc
  • 1/2 oz Rothman & Winter Apricot Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Velvet Falernum
  • 1/2 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
  • 2 dash Regan's Orange Bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
Preparation:

Stir with ice, strain into a coupe, and garnish with an orange twist.
