Wanted to use a bottle of Suze that I recently special-ordered from liquor store so I made this. Turned out to be a delicious drink. Was bitter, sour, sweet and a little vegetal all at once. Couldn't tell if bitterness in drink was coming from grapefruit or suze however.... Next time I try using suze, I will make it the only bitter ingredient in the cocktail.
1.5 oz espolon reposado tequila
1.0 oz suze gentian liqueur
0.5 to 0.75 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
0.25 to 0.5 oz of agave nectar
Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker. Fine-strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with a grapefruit twist.
