A @demonbitters original. Continuing the experiment by stripping the Sharply Dressed In Manhattan back further. This time the citrus acid was dissolved in the vermouth. By balancing the sweetness out the bitter notes of the vermouth came forward so I haven't added bitters to the drink. This is really interesting. The aromatic profile of a Sweet Manhattan with the freshness of a Dry Manhattan. I was cautious with the citric acid crystals so the acidity isn't in your face but is just enough to counter the fairly subtle sweetness of the vermouth. Compared to a Perfect Manhattan (made simultaneously) this is a cleaner sharper drink, long on aromatics but with less roundness. I am intrigued by the possibilities of this.
